Bringing The Charles Henry Ex R.N.L.B Life Boat Back Into Service
On Monday 6th July 2020 at 10am The Charles Henry, ex R.N.L.B Lifeboat was lifted out of the water! ⚓
CHARLES HENRY is a former Oakley Class lifeboat. Her official number was 1015, and her operational number was 48-12. She is 48 feet and 6 inches in length. She was stationed at Selsey from 1969 until 1983, and then at Baltimore between 1983 and 1987. Her penultimate service was in 1986 when she went to assist the KOWLOON BRIDGE in what was described as a phenomenal sea state. She is now the only Oakley Class 48 ft 6 inch lifeboat afloat. Mark Tyler and his son James Tyler are now the joint owners of the Charles Henry and are looking to restore this historic boat which will allow scouts, sea scouts & girl guides to have the opportunity of sailing on the life boat this summer.
Teamac paints were previously used on this historic ship & we are happy to be donating the marine paint that will be used to bring Charles back into operation! The paint donated includes Antifouling Protector II, Marine Undercoat Primer & various colours of marine gloss.
We are looking forward to watching the progress!
