Arthur Teal and Harold Mackrill established Teal & Mackrill in 1908 supplying ‘varnishes and compositions’ to Hull and East Yorkshire’s maritime community, including the fishing fleet, merchant ships and Royal Navy. Teal & Mackrill paints and varnishes quickly became known as ‘Teamac’ and the brand was registered in 1920.

The Mackrill family (now in it’s 4th generation) still own the business and it has grown and developed by using the latest manufacturing techniques and best raw materials

Teal & Mackrill has achieved and retained ISO 9001 Quality, 14001 Environmental and 45001 Health and Safety Management Systems as well as being awarded the British Coatings Federations Coatings Care Award for best overall performance in the UK
